Clarence Richardson Jr., (Papa) was called to rest August 14, 2022. On July 22, 1931, in Brenham, Texas, Goddess and Clarence Richardson Sr welcomed the eldest of their 3 children, a son named Clarence Richardson Jr. into their hearts and home. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a devoted member of Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church.
Clarence graduated from Pickard High School in Brenham, Texas. He was later drafted in the United States Army where he served as a Corporal until he was honorably discharged in 1954 after serving in the Korean War.
On May 23, 1959, Clarence was united in marriage to Minnie Pearl Richardson of Houston, Texas. They were united in Holy Matrimony for 59 ½ years until Minnie went home to be with God. To this union, two children were born. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather Papa) and was always conscious about doing God’s will. His greatest passion was the love and care that he provided to his family and extended family.
In his Professional career Clarence worked as a Process Operator at Maxwell House Coffee for 40 plus years of Service. He served as a dedicated Union Steward for many years because he always believed in justice, equal rights and fair treatment for all.
Hunting, bowling and listening to Jazz and Blues music were some of his most favorite past times. His love for baseball was apparent whenever he watched the sport.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Pearl, his parents, Clarence and Goddess Richardson, his sister Thelma Pope Richardson, his brother Alonzo Richardson and one nephew Norman Richardson.
Being left to cherish his many wonderful memories are his daughter, Kimberly Claire Richardson, son, Shawn Eric Richardson (Teneisha); Grandchildren Jessica Deborah Watkins (Kelton), Kiara A’lon Wade-Bogle (Brandon), Nadiya Patrice Richardson and Peyton Anita Richardson; one sister-in-law, Marian Richardson; Niece/Daughter, Valencia Boone; one special adopted son, Frank Wade; three nieces and three nephews; and a host of close cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
A visitation for Clarence will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, 7817 Calhoun Rd, Houston, TX 77033. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7817 Calhoun Rd, Houston, TX 77033.
Clarence will be laid to rest in Paradise Cemetery South, 2237 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581 following a graveside service at 1:00 PM.
