Clarence Joseph Malbrough Jr., 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022. Clarence, known as Bubba to most, was born on August 2, 1948, in Houston, Texas. Bubba was extremely proud to have served during the Vietnam War as part of the United States Marine Corps and he let everyone know that Marines were the best. Upon returning from Vietnam, he met his wife, Maricela, while he was working as a security guard at Ben Taub Hospital; they were married on February 24, 1973. Bubba was a hard worker all his life, from the time he was 15 years old supporting his brothers and sisters after his father passed away until the day he retired. He was very proud of his children’s and granddaughters’ accomplishments and bragged about them to anyone that would listen. No matter how demanding his job was, he was always there for any extracurricular event his kids, Chris and Elizabeth, had. As he entered retirement, he spent his time attending swim events for Alydia and softball games for Erin. He was there for everything they did at school or anything they needed. He loved his family more than anything; he lived his life for them, and he was their biggest fan.
Bubba is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Joseph Malbrough Sr., mother, Ruth Lois Malbrough, sister, Nina Weiner, and brothers, Louis Malbrough Sr. and Bert Malbrough. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Maricela Malbrough; daughter Elizabeth Perez and son-in-law, Miguel Perez; son Christopher Malbrough and daughter-in-law, Stacey Malbrough; granddaughters, Alydia Perez, Erin Perez, Austyn Malbrough and soon to be grandson Miles Malbrough; siblings, Linda McMurray and brother-in-law Dan McMurray, Sandra Coligan and brother-in-law Ben Coligan, Rita Dinklage, Judy Cantu and brother-in-law Edward Cantu, Rudolph Malbrough Sr., Sidney Malbrough Sr., Robert Malbrough Sr. and sister-in-law Rose Malbrough, sister-in-law Janie Malbrough; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Bubba never met a stranger as he enjoyed talking to others about fishing, hosting friendly banter with military veterans, and greeting everyone with a wave. His infectious smile, jokes, and his running tab for all the $5 charges for everything are just a few of the countless things his loved ones will miss about him.
A visitation for Clarence “Bubba” Malbrough will be held Wednesday, November 9 at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
