She was born to Arthur and Florence Boulanger in Wolcott, Connecticut on the 2nd of September 1924.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Paul Wise, Sr.; and two of her five children, sons David Arthur Wise and Richard Paul Wise, Jr. Claire is survived by her remaining three children, Thomas Patrick Wise, Elizabeth Wise Rockefeller and Susan Wise Moore.
Claire graduated from the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, on the 1st of February 1947. She followed her calling by managing a long and successful nursing career with many accomplishments. Working at Hermann Memorial Trauma Center, she was a Certified Emergency Room Nurse, C.E.N., R.N. and worked as a Life Flight nurse at the initiation of the Life Flight program in Houston. She was a supervising nurse in the emergency room at Hermann Memorial for many years. She was invited to Soviet Russia to train medical personnel in emergency room procedures. In 1981 she was awarded the YWCA Woman of the Year for her many professional accomplishments while maintaining a home and family.
Claire and Richard Wise met in Miami, Florida, married on the 24th of October 1951; and had five children, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, along with the joyful anticipation of a new great-grandson in March. A simple paragraph just does not seem to properly reflect a well lived life of 94 years.

At a later date Claire will join her husband in a private burial at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
Claire Wise was a devout Catholic and was very active in supporting the missions of the poor, sick and under-served. Please honor her memory by giving to a Catholic charity, church, or mission of your choice.
