Christopher Phillips

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher "Chris" Phillips, a compassionate and wise soul who brought warmth, love, and wisdom into the lives of many. Chris was born on September 13, 1973 and passed away on January 16, 2025. He was known for his deep love for his family, his remarkable driving skills, and his care for those he considered part of his family.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Griselda Phillips. Their bond was strong, their love enduring, and her loss is profound. Chris's mother, Yolanda Barragan Phillips, mourns the loss of a son who brought so much joy, love, and wisdom into her life. His children, Contessa Phillips and Christopher Isaac Phillips, will forever remember their father's loving nature, his laughter, and his enduring wisdom. His love also extended to his step-daughter, Alexis Acevedo. Chris was a cherished grandfather to Jiraiya and Julia Baena, who were a source of immense joy and pride for him.

Chris is also remembered by his siblings; Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mario Phillips, Bernardine Phillips, Daniel Phillips, and Timothy Phillips, all who have shared incredible moments and joyous memories with him. He is also remembered by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends whom he referred to as brothers and kinfolk who will miss him greatly. His brother, Henry Phillips III, and their father, Henry Phillips Jr., predeceased Chris, leaving him with fond memories and a legacy of love and strength to carry forward.

Chris was an old soul, wise beyond his years, and his love for his family was unwavering. He filled every room with his warmth and wisdom, and his departure leaves an irreplaceable void. The memories of his love, generosity, and care will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He was passionate, caring, and had a spirit that radiated love and warmth. Chris Phillips will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, wisdom, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation for Christopher will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary service will occur Monday, January 27, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
