 You will be miss  here at the Spanish Trail Lodge you were such a wonderful person keep smiling.

I remember a few months after I had graduated college and moved across the country to Houston, I found myself with no car after having gotten into a minor accident. I was in an unfamiliar city, knew almost no one, and was faced with the prospect of commuting to work via a very long metro bus ride plus a lengthy walk down Westheimer. I worked in the same office as Chris; he popped by my desk and offered to shuttle me to and from work. He would pick me up in the mornings, and take me back home in the evenings. He did this for nearly three weeks until I was able to find a new car. 

I thought that was such a nice thing for him to do, and I really enjoyed the conversations we would have during our drives together. Chris - you will be missed.

Christ you left too soon but for a good place, you have left the best of you among your loved ones! A big heart and your sense humor ! My prayers are with you

When we first met Chris he was super nice and very friendly, as we worked closely together we grew fond of him and his father Dave they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Chris never had anything but a smile on his face, always laughing and joking and enjoying life. It was great working with Chris and we were very fortunate to have him a part of our lives for the time that he was. Chris will be forever missed, and never forgotten. Your gone too soon my friend, we will miss you.

Chris was a very special person, truly one of a kind. The first day I met Chris we instantly became friends. We have worked closely together over the last year in West Texas, and during that time we grew to become almost like brothers. We spent many days driving around to all of the job sites sharing stories about our lives. We talked about everything; our relationships, our families, our past failures or regrets, our triumphs and tribulations, our dreams and ambitions. Sometimes I felt like I knew Chris better than I knew my own wife. Chris had this uncanny ability to make you feel better no matter what you were going through. He was also one of the kindest human beings I've ever met. He put everyone else's needs before his own, and Chris's generosity never ceased to amaze me. 

We've made many memories over the last year, from playing golf in 32 degree weather in shorts...(We made it 6 1/2 holes before we finally gave up and just went to the closest sports bar to watch the Texans game), to playing poker together after work, coming over to our house to grill steaks and you kicking our butts in UNO, and to my kids you will always be Uncle Chris... Chris wasn't just a good friend to me, he was a part of my family. Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs. The one's who accept you as you are, support you in the things you do. The ones who understand your past and believes in your future, and you my friend were definitely a part of our family! We will miss you dearly buddy, but we will never forget you! We were truly blessed that you were a part of our lives, Thank you for all of the wonderful memories!

Working with you was a great experience, usually you don’t assume the people you work with will genuinely make you laugh and enjoy being there. But, you did that. I’ll never forget story time in the warehouse or the story about you bringing your goldfish to the bars. It was a joy getting to know you over the past year or so and you will truly be missed Luetch. ❤️

In this journey through each of our lives it’s always a blessing to meet someone like Chris. A friend of so many great character traits I can’t begin to list them. When Chris walked into a room he brought an aura with him that instantly lit up the room and everyone’s faces. Always greeted with hugs and warm smiles. Chris was the kind of person you just wanted to be around because he made you feel good. His big personality and bigger heart drew everyone to him in a way that was admirable. 
Chris and I met 4 years ago and instantly became close friends. Our lives and personalities mirrored each other so much we felt like we’d known each other for years. Sometimes you meet someone and you just understand one another and that’s how I felt about our friendship. 
I truly feel lucky to have had chris as a friend and can honestly say he made a difference in my life. 

Chris Luetchford was a good young man. He had a kind soul and you felt it being in his presence. I know several stories of him helping others in need. One memorable one; one afternoon a young man and Chris had a minor vehicle fender bender and it wasn't Chris's fault. As the two exchanged insurance information Chris found out he was a high school teacher and didn't want the young man's insurance to go up so he said hey don't worry about it so the two shook hands and went on their way. I was impressed and I told him so, I actually wonder how I would have handled that situation, I learned something from that.
  
I know how much he looked up to his Dad and loved his family.
 
Chris was just a good guy to be around,  will be missed by all.

Luetch! Christopher Luetchford was my friend. He was my pal. We met in college working at a bar salty dog. He was hilarious, genuine, and friendly we became friends immediately. The story’s him and I shared generally are shared with several. Haha! He was loyal! He also had a good left hand and could scrap well if need be. But mostly he was just a bright ray of sunshine! The dude was up beat and made many situations more fun than not. I could go many months without talking but we could pick right back up like it was yesterday. He was a good man. And stood by his morals. I’ll never forget the years we shared as friends. My heart goes out to y’all. He was my friend. But he was your son. I am so happy and grateful God put Chris in my path. I’m happy to call him my friend. He showed me friendship to the highest of honors. I’m so so sorry. I will never forget the light he shined in my life.

We worked together in West TX and whenever I walked into the office you shared with Chris P. & Dave for help, you were always the first to jump at it. Even when you didn't have the answers, you went out of your way to find it for me. Little gestures like that shows how selfless of a life you led.

During one of the breaks at the Safety Leadership training last winter, you told me stories about working in the tough terrains of North Dakota and you earned my respect as a hardworking young man.

After Dave left us in West TX, he called me a couple of times to check up on me and he would ask how you were doing. I thought to myself how caring of Dave as a father, but all I told him was: Chris is doing great!

Thinking about it all now, your short life has taught me many life's lessons.

May God comfort you and guard your hearts with his peace. 

I still don’t know how to answer this. You were the guy who made a friend out of a stranger. I would still tell you today I made the better poker play. Two guys at that hand are playing poker above today...I can’t wait to take your money in a three handed deck. 

I miss our scooter gang. We should’ve all just stayed in Houston. Miss you brother. 

When you were going through treatment those 2 years and I would stay with you in the hospital  almost every time.  We beat that Simpsons arcade game in the teen room. It took us weeks!  We did it together and I never forgot. I didn't realise what all those weekends meant to you until one night we were hanging out in college Station and you brought it up and you remembered that game. We would sit in your room and play the Sega games.. And little kids from down the hall would always end up crowding in our room and playing too. We would hang out with the nurses and order Indian food and stink out  the whole floor. When I really needed help you would drop everything and be there. And you did that for so many. All I hear is your laugh. I see you and I hear your laugh. ❤️ 

It has been overwhelming to receive so many emotive and touching messages from so many friends that Christopher has touched during his short life.

For example a stranger contacted us today who met Christopher during the Harvey storm. The stranger had lost his home and Chris opened his wallet and gave him everything... a humbling example to us all on what is important in life....  

These many messages have lifted Hilary and I during this tragic time and reminded us again what a fine son and brother our family and friends will remember. 

We mention the Sunshine Kids - as that foundation and Make a Wish helped us through the period when Christopher suffered T Cell Leukemia in his childhood.

We remain eternally humbled and grateful to experience such friends, colleagues and foundations that retain our belief in the goodness of our fellow man and God watching over us.

Chris had an uncanny ability to get out of himself and pour himself into others. When you spoke to him, he was listening to you and only you. He treated everyone like they were his best friend and his home was always open to us all no matter what we were going through. Chris and his family took me camping every year and taught me how to fish. I caught the biggest sheep head I’ve ever seen and his dad had to help us reel it in. Chris and I caught catfish with soap and hot dog wieners because they will eat anything. Our friend Ethan proved that humans are not that different as Chris paid him $1 to eat a live shrimp.  I’ll never forget that trip or your spirit Chris. You were truly one of a kind.

Man oh man buddy I’m crying as I type this from the moment I met you you were always so genuine and helpful if I ever needed anything you were always one of the first ones there taught me the poker ropes lol made me a better player I will never forget you oh yeah don’t ever forget J of clubs 6 of clubs 

Chris you were such a caring loving person. I don’t know where to start with the stories, just so many. We always had an amazing time with you. You embarrassed me, helped me, made me laugh when I wanted to cry, and were like a big brother.  I remember when we were catching a flight to Idaho for Niki’s wedding, we were seated in different spots on the plane you preceded to tell the flight attendent I was your little sister with some mental health issues and that I needed to be seated next to you. I was so embarrassed I couldn’t even talk which didn’t help the situation. The flight attended literally moved a couple to put me next to you. I was mortified. It doesn’t end there, you proceded to tell the other flight attended we were getting married and needed to celebrate so she gave you all the free alcohol you wanted !! It was such a great weekend. You are missed more than you know. Fly high! I will try my best to protect Niki like you do for the rest of her life. It’s so big shoes to fill but I’ll try my hardest. We love you. 

I can still hear your infectious laugh and see your smile l. I am going to miss your random calls and messages. Family is what made you the happiest. I hope they know that. Love you Luetch. I will miss you friend. RIP
