Christine Kubena

Christina Kubena, 98, of Houston, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was born in Taylor, Texas on May 31, 1917. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Foroi, brother Joseph Foroi, husband Ludwig Kubena and son Charles "Sonny" Kubena.

Christine is survived by her grandsons, Matt Kubena and wife JoAnn of Sweeny, Texas, and Les Kubena of Dripping Springs, Texas; granddaughters Karen Kubena of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Cheryl Kubena of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Kubena of Houston, Texas; step granddaughter, Lisa Parkman and husband George of Houston, Texas; and step grandson John and wife Lynn Schott of Marion, Texas; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Christine will best be remembered for her long tenure in sales at the downtown Houston location of JC Penny's as well as her caregiving at the Clarewood House. "Granny" was especially proud of her cooking, her Czech heritage and being the rock of the family and the thread that held us all together.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Monday, February 15th from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Oak Room followed by a Graveside Service at 12 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
