Christine Hernandez Gomez

She worked as an Orderly at Methodist Hospital, until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Anita Hernandez, two sisters (Lina Garcia and Lupe Sanchez), two brothers (Andrew and Jesus Hernandez), her husband, Rudolph Gomez, and two sons (David and Gary Gomez).

She is survived by her eldest sister, Lilia H Guerra, six children: Christina Cooke (Bill), Rudolph Gomez Jr., Albert Gomez, Jesse Gomez (Norma), Robert Gomez, and Cynthia Brown (Lawrence); 13 grandchildren: Manda Johnson (Allan), Melisa Jenkins (Zale), Joseph Merino (Crystal), Michelle Llorance (Jeffrey Sr.), Sefrino Gomez (Erin), Keith Gomez (Miranda), Angela Gomez (Gerardo), Loren Cruz (Shawn), Albert Gomez Jr., Louis Gomez (Tiffany), Margaret Perez, Quia Brown, and Aris Brown; 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Our mother was loving and caring. She was a relatively modest person, who found joy in reading her morning newspaper and cooking for her family. She especially enjoyed making her authentic Mexican food, caldo, mole, tacos and her homemade tortillas. Anytime someone stopped by to visit her, you could count on being served a glass of her iced tea and a taco or whatever she was cooking at the time. We will always remember our mother and will always cherish the wonderful memories we had with her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lenorah’s Memory Care Facility for the professionalism and dedication they showed our loved one in her final days. The love and compassion they showed while under their care went beyond the normal am/pm services. She was treated like their own family. We sincerely appreciate their love and care.

A visitation for Christine will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM. A committal service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
