Cheryl Francis Wright Murphy was truly an ambassador for Christ. She was an anointed singer and a gifted writer. All those that met  Cheryl enjoyed her company, because she was total love. As a child growing up we had the pleasure of her living with us for one year as she attended college in Tucson Arizona; she was an a student. I still find myself singing her song doo doo Twell, every once in awhile. The Earth has lost an angel and Heaven has gained one. She will be missed by many but never forgotten as we will keep her memories in our hearts. PS,  First cousin drop us a heavenly line every once in awhile.

I have sweet memories of Cheryl and had we not lived close to Donna and James in the early years of our marriage those special times would not have been possible.  Cheryl knew I studied literature and shared her poetry with me. She was thoughtful,  kind,  and true. Saying goodbye is hard,  but now we are left to live the best way we can and add positivity to as many others as possible.  
My love goes out to my family as you grieve in your own special ways.  Much love to you all.

To our Superstar “Cheryl Frances (Wright) Murphy”, 
Cheryl, you are our superstar, a beautiful big sister, a protector, a talented artist, a poet and orator, songwriter and modern dancer and survivor. You were so talented and strong. It seemed that everyone loved you and I was so proud that you were my big sister.  Everyone remembers how you loved to sing and recite poetry. You were an awesome big sister and a friend.  

What Donna says is the whole truth you are: “The solider, the saint and the survivor”. You took care of Mama and Mama took care of you. You always wanted to make sure Donna and I had what we needed. 

You set out and joined the military at an early age and lived in Germany that was so great. I was thinking my sister can do everything and I was a proud little brother.  I still have the trick wallet you bought me when you came back to the states. I have it in my hand as I write this.  

I will miss your daily phone calls and sometimes me trying to make you laugh by answering, “PIZZA HUT”!  You would always pause and then say, "Carl" and laugh and say "boy I know this is you" and we would have a good laugh and for some reason it never got old!

I will never forget your rendition of “BLACK MOTHER PRAYING IN THE SUMMER 1943”. 
Until I fights ta stamp my feet with my black sons 
On a freedom solid rock and stand there peaceful 
And look out into the star wilderness of the sky 
And the land lyin about clean, and secure land. 
And people not afraid again. 
Lord, let us all see the golden wheat together.

To  Donna, Carl, Mrs. Mildred, Joseph, Stevie, and all the family, I send my deepest sympathy upon receiving news of the passing of Cheryl.  After being neighbors with your family for so many years, this is a loss to me personally as our families have always had that close bond. We all grew up together as next door neighbors in what seemed like a much simpler time. Ms Eula Duke baked and shared gingerbread with us. Cheryl and I played outside together in our front yard as she shared rhymes or songs and chanting games that she had learned until time to go inside for the evening. OH, those were the days!

No more struggles.  You have earned your eternal departure on earth!  Until the rapture...

Donna and family, I am so glad to read of all the fine attributes of your sister Cheryl. God truly blessed you and your family with her life, love and legacy. Heaven received another angel when Cheryl appeared. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your family in days to come, and that each of you dwell on fond memories of her. Jesus heals all griefs and pains.  Heaven is celebrating.  Peace and blessings.

I remember being able to hold Cheryl and brush her hair. We were just old enough and Sister allowed us to play with her for a short time. She was the prettiest baby we knew.  Cheryl always appeared happy and had a smile for everyone. I will miss her sweetness to all. Love you. Praying for  all my cousins.

Sister Cheryl Frances “The soldier and The saint”.

Cheryl a loving and caring sister. 
She took great care of my mother and my mother took great care of Cheryl, in other words they took care of each other for many many years. 

Cheryl fought a good fight each day just to live with the hand of cards she had been dealt in the world. 

She would give her last quarter, dime or nickel to help someone in need. I saw this with my own eyes. 

She would often ask me how much money I needed and wanted to give me money and my kids. She always asked how James, Dyonna Jay were doing?

Cheryl would call me two, three, four times a day. We all will miss her daily calls. I would just sit on the phone with her to keep her company. 

She made me to believe I was the only person she told I was so beautiful. She told all of us that. 

I remember one of the songs she wrote tilled “My soul is a witness for my lord” 
She was that a witness for the Lord. No one could survive the things Cheryl had gone through without the Lord being with her.

Cheryl was definitely the embodiment of love, caring and long suffering.  

Cheryl was my beautiful sister that could do everything I couldn’t. She was creative had acting skills, sing, creative writing of poetry and performed modern dance.

She would say you see Miss Johnson  you need 2 to put all your stuff in . She was a  lovely  lady . Oh I almost forgot our trip to see Jay play football  at Strait.  She was excited and we had fun.
