Cherry Lynn Higgins Spear Crosby Irwin was born June 18, 1940 in Eunice, Louisiana to Francis Earl Higgins of Houston, Texas and Virginia Lee Hodges Higgins of Marshall, Texas. She married to James E. Irwin of Oklahoma City on April 21, 1983.
Cherry had four children in her first marriage to Nelson Eddie Spear. Connie Jo Clark of Houston, Texas; Dana Lee Daubenspeck (Hedin) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kelly Lynn Marro (Andrew) of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Brent Eddie Spear (Shannon) of Pittsburg, Kansas. Cherry’s Grandchildren through Connie are Melissa Clark of New Caney, Texas and Esther Walker of Houston, Texas; through Dana are Destry Blake (deceased), Rachel Bess Hansen of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Matthew Rue Ferguson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; through Kelly are Brittnee Morganne Canty of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Alexa Jordan Ormsby of Mascoutah, Illinois and Jacob Tyler Marro of Jacksonville, North Carolina; through Brent are Brandon Levi Spear of Pittsburg, and Jonathan Levi Spear of Pittsburg, North Carolina. Her great grandchildren from Melissa are Lance Snell of San Antonio, Texas and Kelsey Snell of New Caney, Texas and through Esther and husband James Walker are Haeley Lynn Walker and Autumn Renee Walker; through Rachel and husband Kevin Hansen is Madison Jewell Hansen of Tulsa, Oklahoma and through Matthew and wife Sarah Christine are Annabelle Louise and Colette JoLee ; through Brittnee are Kane Samson and Ava Monete’ through Alexa and husband Corey is Tristan Blaine. Great-Great grandchildren through Lance are Brayleigh Grace and Hunter Rae Snell..
Cherry Lynn’s Brother Francis Earl Higgins Jr. and his wife Jean of The Woodlands, Texas, and Cherry’s sister Brenda Lee and husband Mike Smith whom has preceded Cherry in death.
Cherry was first and foremost a mother and grandmother. Her contributions to her family also included the genealogy of her immediate family and that of her children’s family connections as well. Cherry was highly regarded in the genealogy field for her many contributions of family trees. It makes sense that Cherry, a well-respected Private Investigator specializing in the field of insurance investigation encompassed her pursuit of work into her passion for genealogy and family history. For 30 years she was the sole owner of Alpha Claim Services in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cherry’s passion included collecting and sharing Bibles and traveling the world.
A celebration of life will be held on August 19 at 10:00 A.M. at the Unity Center of Tulsa. The Memorial Service will be held on August 22, 2017 at 2:00p.m. Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas ; which will also be Cherry’s final resting place.
