Charlotte was a 1951 graduate of Yuma High School and a 1955 graduate of The University of Northern Colorado at Greeley. She was an elementary teacher in both the Yuma, Colorado and Fairview, Colorado school districts from 1955 through 1960.
On June 7, 1958 she married Weldon Wegner, also from Yuma, in Boulder, Colorado. They had two daughters, Kay and Ann. After living in the Denver area for more than 10 years, Charlotte and Weldon moved to Houston, Texas in 1975. Once there Charlotte became a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and, was active in their Women’s Club. She was also a Preschool teacher at the church for sixteen years. Living in Houston gave Charlotte a chance to travel with Weldon throughout the south, develop a love for country music, and spend time relaxing at her most favorite place: Galveston Island. Charlotte enjoyed crafts, playing Scrabble, and laughing with her family. Her enthusiasm and optimistic outlook on life were contagious!
Charlotte was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Wegner (in 1989), her parents; all six sisters and their husbands; (Avis and Raymond Willeke, Bonnie Blach, Gloria and George Norwood, Joan and Marion Gartin, Betty and Herbert Buchkowski, Annabelle and Ernie Perlenfein), her one brother (Perry Blach and his wife Teresa), two nephews; Craig Willeke and Bernie Blach, and one niece, Patty Metzler.
