Charlie Nell Horton

Charnell was married to David E Horton from July 21, 1946 to his passing in October of the year 2000. They had two children: Brenda Gail Dean and David Edward Horton Jr. She grew up in a dragline operator’s household which required moving frequently in Oklahoma and Texas. She graduated from Gilmer High School. Charnell was a devoted wife and mother. She also was worked for the local school district. She provided a safe and loving home. She will be greatly missed.

She was a member of the Spring Branch Church of Christ, Fry Road Church Of Christ and the Cyfair Church of Christ in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Grace; husband, David E Horton; and sisters: Ethel, Marie, Jewel, Melba, Hazel, and a brother Benny.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Gail Dean and her husband Robert Dean of Houston; David Horton and his wife Karen Riceman of Beaumont; grandchildren, Julie Kalousek and her husband Mark, Ronald Dean, Crystal Wells and her husband Alex, Matthew Horton, David Evan Horton, and great-grandchildren, Mark, Michael, Annika, Ella, and Lorelie. There are also many cousins, nieces, nephews she leaves behind.

A graveside service for Charlie will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
