Charles Williams, Jr., entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was born on April 27, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Charles Williams, Sr. and Bertha Mae Holmes Williams. Charles moved to Houston, Texas at an early age with his parents and sister Pepita "Pia". The family settled in the community of Pleasantville where they lived on the 1800 block of Pleasantville Dr. Pleasantville was a close knit community where everyone knew everyone and neighbors were more like family than friends. Charles Jr. attended Pleasantville Elementary, Our Mother of Mercy, Sacred Heart, All Saints; Hamilton Jr. High, Mount Carmel High School, Furr High School and Texas Southern University.Charles was an altar boy at Our Mother of Mercy Family Church and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea.Charles was known as an avid world traveler who enjoyed watching sports, designing, building, and most of all outdoor grilling and entertaining his family. Charles was employed with the United States Post Office as a mail handler for 31 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Mae Williams; brothers, Gill Williams and Randolph Vallery. Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years of marriage, Michaelle Williams; his father, Charles A. Willams, Sr.; his siblings, Pepita Williams Iles and husband Willie, Latache Williams, Juanita Williams Burton and husband John, Patricia Williams Edwards and husband Darrell ,Robert Busby, Gwendolyn Williams, Youlinda Williams Kenny; his god children, Toya Exnicious and Crystal Hall Davis and his three special friends, George McGowan, Hermann McGowan, Jr. and Mr. Willie Clay and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the COPD Foundation in memory of Charles Williams, Jr. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM with funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery.
