CHARLES “CHARLIE” ALLEN SIMPSON, age 39, of Fountain, Colorado passed away Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019 at 10:15 A.M. at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Colorado Springs from a pulmonary embolism.
Charlie was born on Easter Sunday, April 15, 1979, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he grew up and received his primary education. Charlie has had a variety of life adventures including: auto body work, carpentry and home renovation, petroleum land man, bartender, waiter, chef, and self-employed tractor service. For the last ten years he had been working as a licensed journeyman electrician in Alaska and North Dakota.
He cherished family and friends and enjoyed playing in the great outdoors. He loved motorcycle riding, kayaking, ATV riding, fishing, water skiing, and snow boarding. He is remembered by all who knew him as a fun loving awesome guy, generous, kind, and nonjudgemental. Although he never had children, he loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He was a fierce, loyal and loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, partner, co-worker and friend.
Charlie is survived by his partner Dawn Miller and her two sons, Caleb and Christian, of Fountain, Colorado, Mother and Step-Father Linda and Jim Buck of Grinnell, Iowa, Father and Step-Mother Brent and Dale Simpson of Westlake, Louisiana, siblings Sandra (Andre) Dugas, Steven (Kristy) Simpson, Stephanie (Paul) Pritchard, Jennifer (Chris) Carpenter, Benjamin Buck and Henry Buck and life long friend Steve Burrow.
He is preceded in death by his big brother, Scott Allen Buck Simpson and grandparents.
A chapel service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. Burial will follow on the grounds at the same location immediately following the service. Charlie’s family will receive guests from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Thursday morning before the Chapel Service.
