Charles A. Rivet Jr., age 96, of Conroe, Texas entered into rest on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Charles was born on February 3, 1925 to parents Charles Albert Rivet, Sr. and Hilda Breazeale Rivet in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Charles attended LSU and received both Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Chemistry. In August 1943, he proudly served in the United States Navy where he was a Naval Aviator and earned the ranking of a Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJR).
On August 16, 1947, Charles married the love of his life, Ethel L. Rivet. Charles and Ethel were married for 72 wonderful years.
Charles worked for Exxon Mobil (Creole) in Baton Rouge, Venezuela and New York for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Mended Hearts, St. Matthews Catholic Church, Citizens on Patrol, and enjoyed volunteering in many other organizations over the years. He had a passion for fishing, hosting crawfish boils, but above all, his true passion was his family and helping others
Even at the end of his life, Charles was a selfless and noble person; he participated in Baylor College of Medicine’s Willed Body Program, to help others by teaching future doctors.
Charles is survived by his daughter, MaryAnn Rivet and husband Michel Rault; son, David M. Rivet and wife Cindy; son, Ken C. Rivet and wife Sandra; daughter Ginger L. Bats and husband Herve; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Jonathan, Michael, Benjamin, Chelsea, and Kelly; and numerous loving great grandchildren.
