Charles McVay, 82, entered eternal rest on November 13, 2020 in Hull, Texas. He was born May 3, 1938 in Huntington, Texas. At the age of 13, Charles began working. He worked as a maintenance supervisor and was also an oil field worker. Charles loved his wife and family deeply. In his younger years he enjoyed dancing and the night life. As he grew older, he became fond of the country life, tractors, fishing, and hunting. He would make himself a bowl of Blue Bell’s Neapolitan ice cream and watch the old westerns.
Charles is preceded in death by his father Edd McVay and mother Gertie Stringer. Left to cherish his loving memory, loving wife Francis McVay; daughter Rhonda Gelske and husband Jim; son Richard McVay and wife Peggy; son Chris McVay; grandchildren: Christine Peth and husband Dylan, Trudy Gelske, Madison McVay, Melanie McVay; great-grandchildren Andrew Peth and Charles Peth (Charlie); sister Mary Lou Nettles.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 5pm-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2pm. All services will take place at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park immediately after funeral service.
