He grew up around the Truth dedicating his life to Jehovah and symbolized this through water baptism in 1950. He later migrated with his wife Rita and their son John to London, England. They later returned to Jamaica around 1969 where shortly after he lost his wife, Rita, in death.
Charles later remarried on August 21, 1979, Brenda M.Benjamin and was welcomed by her children Robert, Jean, and Peter Benjamin. They migrated to the United States and settled in Queens, New York where they continued to serve Jehovah together. They then moved to Florida in 1981 and again in 2006 to Spring,Texas. Charles was an Elder in the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for about 50 years. He was an avid student of the Bible and spent several hours pouring over God's word in order to stabilize his own faith and to provide encouragement for members of the Christian congregation.
“Pops”, as he was lovingly known, and Brenda lived with their children until he suffered from a stroke in 2010. He was paralyzed on his right side and eventually had to reside in a nursing home. He remained faithful to his God Jehovah till his passing on May 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife Brenda; sons John, Robert, and Peter; daughter Jean “M.J.”; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
