Charles was born October 1, 1924 to a farming family and World War I veteran in Millington, Michigan.
He graduated from high school in 1941, was drafted into the army and was wounded by friendly fire and medically discharged September 1945. He started a produce trucking company and sold his produce to various markets in Detroit Michigan where he met his future wife Evelyn Krahner, an intern in an interior design at J L Hudson Company. They were married June 8, 1946 and on May 25, 1947 their daughter Karen Lurinda was born. Charles sold his business and bought a travel trailer and with his little family attended Central Radio and Television School in Kansas City, Missouri on the GI Bill. He accepted a television Engineering job at KLEE in 1948 at a new Station being completed in Houston, Texas owned by Albert Lee and his wife Gene Tierney. The station was later purchased by Former Governor William P Hobby and his wife Oveta Culp Hobby where the call sign was changed to KPRC. He rose in the ranks of early television and KPRC was a number one rated television entity. He was a long term member of the Texas Association of Broadcasters. Charles retired from television in Feb 1992 and he and his wife traveled extensively in their motorhome with family and friends until 2009 when he suffered an accident. He rallied and with his wife and founded the “Channel 2 Crew: a group of retired KPRC-TV employees enjoying many years with the group and his big family.
His son Douglas Charles was born Feb 26, 1951 during the time of transitioning into a number one station. Their youngest child a girl Lori Ann was born Feb 12, 1958. Charles had a happy and fulfilling life.

He is proceeded in death by His Father, Clarence and Mother Elizabeth Hunt; Brother Gerald Hunt Sister Wilma Irene Sherman Jackson and Granddaughter Andrea Suzanne Hunt.
Charles was a quiet man who had a beautiful mind who walked the walk.
