Charles Ellry Durrett Jr.

Charles Ellry Durrett, Jr. was born February 20, 1956 in Dallas, Texas and passed away March 4, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Preceded in death by his mother, Pat Durrett, he is survived by his father Charles Ellry Durrett, Sr., brother David Durrett and wife Kay, brother Paul Durrett, sister Margaret Ann Cook and husband Nick and nieces and nephews Stephanie, David, James, Andrew, Ben and Jack along with great nieces and nephews.

Charles graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1974 and from Texas A&M University with honors in 1978. He enjoyed a successful career as a Division Order Analyst at several Houston oil and gas companies.

Charles played youth baseball, ran track and played football in high school as well as intramural sports in college. He enjoyed water skiing, fishing and dove hunting. An avid newspaper reader, he was never afraid to work the crossword puzzle in pen.

Charles had a quick wit and was always up for some good humored teasing. He was very generous with family and friends and was known to his niece and nephews as an excellent gift giver.

There will be a graveside service for family. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Star of Hope would be greatly appreciated.
