Charles Alwin Anderson was born in Houston, Texas December 27, 1941 to Bennie Anderson Sr. and Anita (Gates) Anderson. Charles graduated from Jack Yates High School where he played baseball and was an all-star player. He changed careers over the years but found passion in carpet installation. Many homes around town were beautified because of his commitment to excellence through hard work and relationship for many years with Carpet Giant until his untimely illness.
At the time of Charles's passing, he was married to Oma Anderson. To their union, two children were born: Clayton and Tyra. Charles learned the art of photography and photo development which brought joy to many individuals. In addition to his already busy family life Charles found time for a sport he loved, bowling. He bowled for many years, traveling all over the world with friends in tournaments.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Bennie Anderson Sr., mother Anita M. Parker, brother Bennie Anderson Jr. He leaves to mourn, Sons Charles Jr. (Christine), Clayton (Britney), daughters Charlesia and Tyra. Seven grandchildren, Nohea Anderson, Alexis Anderson, Anthony Johnson, Kamran Johnson, Alicia Johnson, Britton Anderson and Calaya Anderson.. One great grandchild Aria Johnson. Brother in-laws , Walter Cooksey, Allen Cooksey and David Cooksey, Sister in-laws, Verna Battles, Mary Oliver and Eunice Cooksey, one very special niece Anita Anderson and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention of cousins Oscar Gates of Tempe, Arizona and Gladys Harris of Los Angeles, California.
