Cecile Lee Mathers

Cecile, my lifelong sweetheart, passed away Wednesday, August 9th 2023. Cecile and I were blessed beyond words by a loving 64 years of marriage after having been sweethearts from 8th grade through high school at Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth. I miss her beyond description but I will always cherish thousands of memories over the years. And in my profound grief I take great comfort in knowing that Cecile is no longer hurting.

I will miss “The Touch of Her Hand” (which was also one of our favorite songs). I gladly made it through 4 years of USAF with her help, 2 college degrees with her help, raising three sons with her help (actually it was me helping Cecile). We lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, California, Arizona and oh yeah: Texas! Thanks to the very kind and competent staff and associates at Methodist West Hospital in Katy, TX. as well as the staff and associates at Spanish Meadows / Casa Azul in Katy.

A visitation for Cecile will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
