Allison Gainey Stephens, 71, of Bellaire was born August 17, 1946 to James Wiley Gainey and Evelyn Gerrard Gainey who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Gregg Stephens, her son James Stephens and daughter in law Kristen Stephens along with their children Wyatt and Lily: her daughter Amy Stephens Salmon and Husband Spencer Salmon along with their children Maxwell, Isaac, and Oliver; and her three brothers, James Gainey Jr. and his wife Lynette, Hugh Gainey and his wife Elaine, & Paul Gainey.
Allison was a devoted lifelong member of the Church of Christ and loved all her brothers and sisters in Christ.
Allison was a 46 year Registered Nurse, and a graduate of the University of Texas. She trained at John Peter Smith in Ft. Worth, was a pharmaceutical researcher, a Certified Drug Abuse and Alcohol counselor and a recipient of an honorary doctorate from the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology for her original research on new medications. She helped heal sickness and pain in countless thousands of suffering people .
She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who will be missed by everyone, but we take comfort that she has gone to a home in heaven free from all pain.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00am Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Westbury Church of Christ, 10424 Hillcroft, Houston Texas 77096.
