Cecil Edward Clark was born on Sept. 3, 1930 to Gladys Hensley Clark and Jim Clark in Conroe, Texas. Edward left this earthly life on October 25, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jesse James Clark. He is survived by his wife, Bettie; daughter, Janet Holt and husband Kirk; granddaughter, Christina Fewin and husband Daniel; grandson, Carter Holt; great granddaughters Madison and Abby Fewin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who were very important to him. Edward and Bettie were happily married for 61 years. They were married in California and they lived in Texas, Alaska, and Nebraska. He traveled all over the world as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He served through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the military service, the family moved to Texas where Edward was the Mechanical Department supervisor for the Texas Department of Corrections. He attended several community colleges and Sam Houston State University.
Edward and Bettie found their church family at the Needville Church of Christ. They also attended the Church of Christ in Trinity, Lovelady, and Onalaska Texas.
Edward enjoyed reading, sharing stories about his military experiences, fishing, making birdhouses, woodworking and air craft and automotive mechanics.
Cecil Edward Clark loved God, his family and his country. He will be greatly missed. Edward was a strong, good man and the BEST husband, father and Grandfather.
