CD Daniels was born on March 10, 1927 to the late Talbert and Beulah Daniels in Stockman, Texas. A patriot and proud veteran, CD entered the United States Army as a teenager serving honorably in both the WWII and Korean conflicts. His love of country and civic pride inspired grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike to follow him into military service.
As a child of the Depression-era, CD was a dedicated provider and family man. Upon returning home from wartime service, he married Bonnie, his wife of over 48 years, and had three children – Carolyn, David and Lacinda.
Hunting and fishing as a young child to provide for the table developed into a love for the “woods” that would stay with him throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and, as many unfortunate Congressmen learned, a dedicated defender of hunters’ rights. His love for the simple rhythms of nature and reverence for the “hunter’s responsibility” lives on in the generations of his children, grandchildren and family friends who found their way to the fireside through him.
CD will be remembered most for his deep and unselfish love. He did not discriminate in his giving, nor did he qualify his care; if it was needed, he gave and that was it.
He is survived by his daughter Lacinda Kay Denning and his sister Faye Grein, twelve grandchildren and an ever-growing army of great-grandchildren.
A visitation for CD will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will follow and began promptly at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel, followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
