Catherine Irene Anderson

Cathy was born November 15, 1945 to Elden Roger and Irene Collison Farley in Carroll, Iowa, one of ten children. In her youth she relocated with her family to Engelberg, Switzerland where she had fond memories of living for a brief time before returning back to the US and settling in Houston, Texas.

In 1974 she wed James Gary Anderson, going on to have two children, David and Marka. Cathy, loving and dedicated, was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother who gave her all to her family. In 2020 she made her final move to Renton, Washington to be closer to her son David and her wonderful grandchildren.

Throughout her life Cathy was known to everyone as someone who never met a stranger, enjoyed traveling to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and abroad, loved a good movie, a devout Catholic, and was famous for her Christmas zucchini bread.

Cathy is survived by her sisters Cora Bartholomew and Barbara Wolf and brother Mark Farley; her husband Gary; her son David Anderson and wife Natalie, and daughter Marka Lyons and husband Adam; and her beloved grandchildren Fiona and Calvin Anderson. She will be missed dearly by all who have had the gift of knowing her.

A visitation will be held in Houston, TX on Tuesday, December 28th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, Grand Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 29th at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX.
