Carolynn was born to Thomas Parker Craddock, Sr. and Geraldine Baskin Craddock on October 4, 1940, in Houston, Texas.
Carolynn graduated from Bellaire High School in 1958. In high school, she was a cheerleader and a twirler in the Bellaire Belles.
Carolynn’s father worked at Humble Oil Company, and as a young woman, Carolynn competed in and won the annual beauty pageant, and was Miss Humble Oil.
After raising her children, Carolynn went back to college and got her associates degree from San Jacinto Junior College.
Carolynn was first a mother and a homemaker, and later worked in the aeronautics field, in education, and also in real estate.
Carolynn especially loved the time that she and Gene spent down in Rockport, just looking out over the water. Carolynn had many interests over the years; gardening, dancing, socializing, reading, traveling, and attending the sporting events and performances of all kinds, that her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nephews participated in. She was so proud of every one of her family members' skills and accomplishments.
Carolynn is lovingly remembered for her sweet disposition, and warm, loving, considerate and compassionate friendship. Carolynn was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Geraldine Craddock, her older sister, Adrienne Craddock Derveloy, and her first born child, Sheryl Lynn Sparks.
Carolynn is survived by her children, Dwayne and Scott (Becky) Sparks and Amy Morgan, her grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Sparks and Parker and Avery Morgan, her sister Barbara Craddock Shultz (Steve), her brother Thomas Parker Craddock, Jr. (Ellen), numerous beloved nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, her love and constant companion for the last ten years, Eugene Johnson, and hundreds of friends.
A visitation for Carolynn will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. There will be a Reception after the Funeral Service, at the funeral home until 3 pm, with light appetizers. Friends and family are welcome to bring food or beverages if they wish.
