Carolyn Elaine Ford

Carolyn Elaine Ford was born on February 26th, 1963, the third of five children, to Alfred Charles Ford and Virginia Ford. She attended Madison High School in Houston from where she graduated in 1981. Afterwards she continued her education taking classes at Texas Southern University and Houston Community College.

Carolyn was an employee of JP Morgan Chase Bank for thirty years. As a Business Financial Professional, she held multiple positions including Mortgage Backed Securities Officer, Liquidity Management Supervisor and Senior Client Service Professional.

Carolyn has one son Jonathon O’Neal, who loved and faithfully took care of his mother even until the morning of her demise. She was extremely proud of his most recent accomplishment of becoming a licensed Peace Officer and Constable for Harris County. But her grandson - Jaxton Ford, was her heart!

Raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord, Carolyn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of the True Light COGIC where her father, Superintendent Alfred Ford serves as pastor. She served in many areas doing “whatever her hands found to do, with all her might,” contributing to the progress of the Church and the advancement of God’s kingdom. She was a faithful worker and a strong support to her mother, Missionary Viriginia Ford during her tenure as District Missionary. Carolyn enjoyed singing and served as the choir directress at True Light Church and her district choir for several years. She would also sing with the Texas Southeast Third Jurisdictional Choir.

Carolyn was creative and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. At True Light she served on the Pastoral Anniversary Committee and would design and set up all the decorations annually. With an outgoing personality and a love for people, she served others by volunteering in the community and doing whatever she could to help those that were sick, homebound or in need of assistance. In recent years, Carolyn became an informal caregiver to her mother, tending to her needs often while she herself was sick.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Christene Ford Sampson. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Jonathon O’Neal Ford; one grandson, Jaxon Ford; her parents, Superintendent Alfred and Missionary Virginia Ford; one sister, Charlene Janet Ford; two brothers, Alan Wilkes Ford (Dawn) and Alfred Charles Ford, II (Temeka); uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, all who were very dear to her; a special friend and daughter, Traneice Williams; the members of the True Light Church Family and a host of other relatives and friends.
