Carol Elizabeth Kent

Carol Elizabeth Kent, 88, of Hempstead, TX, passed away peacefully Monday February 7, 2022. She was born to John and Lucille Knight in Houston, TX on December 19, 1933 and grew up in Sugar Land, TX with her older brother James whom she called Sonny. She married the love of her life, Edward Lee Kent September 2,1950 and they had three children Deborah Sue, Dian Lee, and John Edward.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward Kent, brother Sonny Knight, parents John Knight & Lucille Bartlett, in-laws John and Rosa Kent , brother and sister in-laws Algie and Eleanor Kent, Don and Lois Morgan and Naomi Worsham all of whom she loved deeply and shared so many memorable moments with.

She is survived by her greatest treasures Debbie, Dian & John who loved and cared for her with such grace and affection, grandchildren Kristen Ortiz, Taylor Brown, Aaron Kent, Weston Brown, Peyton Brown and Chloe Elizabeth, daughter in law Tami Kent, Son in law Robert Brown & Al Connery, brother in law Guy Worsham and her great grandchildren Damacio Ortiz, Trendon Ortiz, Kaiya Ortiz, Titan Ortiz, and special friend Tommy who loved her like his own Grandmother.

Carol was a dedicated wife, loving Mother & Grandma, sister & friend. At a young age she began going to church on her own and chose Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in whom she trusted and relied on daily. As a young widow of three children she asked God to help her, as only He could, to raise them, enable her to provide, protect and instill His love and word in their lives. She was a successful business woman who managed rental property and apartments on the Northside of Houston. Carol trusted the Lord and sought His will and direction faithfully. As she walked through her last two years of life it was evident that she knew in Whom she trusted, even if she didn’t recognize her loved ones she remained trusting in her Heavenly Father.

Her greatest treasures are her three children and if there was anything that held her feet on this earth it was her love for them. She never ceased to want the best for each of them, their safety was always a concern and her prayers continual on their behalf daily.

A visitation for Carol will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
