Carmen Sceva Parnell passed away in her home on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023. She was born to Herbert and Wilma Ruth Jones of Pasadena, Texas on January 5th, 1949. She grew up in Pasadena and lived in the greater Houston area before settling down in Stafford, Texas. As a young girl, riding horses and caring for animals of any and all kinds brought her great joy. She attended Sam Rayburn High School as one of the first graduating classes and graduated in 1967. She then continued her studies at the University of Houston. Following her education, she pursued a career in Oil & Gas where she worked for 40+ years as a Piping Designer, developing lifelong relationships with the many colleagues she worked alongside.
Carmen had a passion for the Lord and her heart beamed with joy from Him. She valued serving her family, friends, and would never miss an opportunity to spoil a fur baby. She was a loving, selfless mother and Mimi. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, the outdoors, and any sweet treat! She had an infectious laugh that she shared often; and spent most of her days loving on her grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by both her parents, Herbert and Ruth Jones. She is survived by her son, Michael Joseph Ladmirault, wife Lauren Alyssa Drake, and four grandchildren: Autumn, Alyssa, Annabelle, and Logan. The family gives a special thanks to her dear friends, Ron and LaDessa Jones for their love and friendship for Carmen for 56 years.
A visitation for Carmen will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079, followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 PM.
