She was born in May of 1948, in Houston, to Elicio and Pauline (Rodríguez) Reyes. She was a graduate of Milby High School, then went on to work in Oil & Gas industry, among others, until her retirement in the early 2000s. She married Paul R. Gilbert, Jr., in May of 1971, later having 2 sons, James and Paul, whom she always referred to as her pride and joy.
Carmen was always smiling and loved to laugh. She especially looked forward to all gatherings, whether with family or friends. She had a huge heart, always put others before herself, loved her family and would do anything for anyone in need. In return, she received love from all that knew her: family, friends, neighbors, and especially her co-workers, whom she loved to spoil with her cooking.
Carmen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul; their sons, James and Paul (husband Matthew Parsons); her sisters, Delores Dutton and Naomi Edmonsond (husband Sam); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elicio and Pauline; brothers, Gilbert, Alex, and Chris; and sister, Eva.
She will be forever loved and missed.
