Carlos deLeon passed on to Heaven on May 17, 2011. Born in Houston on June 9, 1957. Carlos deLeon can be described in one word as a giver. He gave unconditional love and devotion to his family, his wife, Anita deLeon of 29 years, and his three children, Matthew, Joseph, and Rachel. He also gave his love to his large family of second parents, Alfredo and Simona Gonzales, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, godchild, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Carlos gave the gift of guidance and support to his community by volunteering with the boy scouts, booster club, and a variety of church functions. He always gave a helping hand whenever in need. One of his best qualities was giving the gift of prayer and faith to his many friends and family. Carlos loved camping, vacationing, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. He inspired all of us to live each day to the fullest, never take life for granted, and make the best out of the life we’ve been given. One of his many sayings was “Take care of yourself: mind, body, and spirit.” He touched so many hearts with his short time here on earth, and we know he was welcomed into heaven by God, his mother, grandmother, and all those who have passed before him. His memory will hold a special place in our hearts until we meet again. His strong love of faith, family, and friends will live on within each of us. We are all blessed to have been touched by one of God’s greatest creations, Carlos deLeon.
