Carl Franklin Nigro, 79, of Houston (formally of Lufkin, TX), passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Carl was born on February 24, 1938 in Syracuse, New York, to his parents, the late Ethel Carpenter and Alfred Nigro. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Thornton of Georgetown, TX.
Carl served as a mechanic in the US Air Force and retired from Nabisco after 38 years of service. His hobbies include fishing, motorcycle riding, and spending time with his family and dogs. He was a faithful member of Lufkin’s First United Methodist Church and loved his family very much.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Chandra Nigro; daughter, Kelly Nigro; son, Joel Nigro; grandchildren Megan, Taylor, and Chase; brother, and sister-in-law, Alfred and Virginia Nigro, sister-in-law, Nita Thornton Hurst, and several loving nieces and nephews.
Carl’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the medical staffs of Brookdale Cy-Fair and Brookdale Hospice for the loving care shown to him during his time under their care.
Interment at Houston National Cemetery will be private.
