Camille Lafon Frazier, 98, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She was preceded in death by Lorn, her husband of 53 years; her parents, Camile and Theresa Lafon and siblings, Adelle Delle, Jeanne Smith and Roy Lafon. Born in New Orleans, Camille grew up in the Crescent City and taught dancing lessons there as a young woman. She and Lorn moved to Houston in the 1940s and settled in Garden Oaks where they raised their family and lived for many years. A charter member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Camille was a member of the Altar Society and the Prayer Group and an active supporter of the church and its school. She loved baseball and football games and any type of theatrical production. She was particularly fond of children and delighted in welcoming them into the family. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Malcolm Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Lorn and Dawn Frazier; four grandchildren, Juli Crow, Jon Phillips, Megan Salch and Colyn Bezanilla; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Camille happily spent her last years at The Hampton at Pinegate. The family wishes to thank the staff there for the kindness shown to her. We would also like to express our appreciation to Nora Hernandez, Ruth Lewis, Lucy Lopez and Houston Hospice for assisting Camille in her final days and to Julia Jordan for her years of faithful service to the family.
Visitation will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St., 77018 on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery Mausoleum, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic School.
