Burl S. Holloway was born on February 24, 1943 to James Burl and Helen Bridget Holloway in Laurel, MS. Burl passed away on October 29, 2021 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Lagune Beach Highschool and from Orange Coast College, California
He served one tour of Duty in Vietnam with the Americal Division (23rd Infantry Division).
He is survived by his wife Eva Holloway, sister Daphne Jennings and brother Jason Holloway. His children included Colleen Holloway Morgan and John Holloway, step children: Stefan Harrell, Stanley Harrell-Owens and Suzanne Bickford. Grandchildren: Jeffrey Harrell-Pressley, Deirdre Rose, Rhys A., Elizabeth Rose Morgan and Aiden Holloway.
Burl was longtime member of Beautiful Savior Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Houston Saengerbund, the Gideon’s, and the Texas German Society.
He worked as Civil Engineer for the State of California before being drafted into the Army. After his return to civilian life he worked for various engineering companies specializing in water drainage, Burl always said “he made the water run downhill”.
Burl loved everyone who came into his life following the example of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
