Bruce Girard McDonald, 64, was born on May 20,1947 passed away July 26, 2011. Bruce served in the Army Reserves and always maintained great respect for our county. He valued God and family above all else. Bruce enjoyed livestock, agriculture and the outdoors which kept him very active. He would never hesitate to take time from his own busy agenda to put other people’s needs above his own, and volunteer his time. His service work to others greatly affected many lives. Bruce was the most humble and gentle man, never without a smile and a joke. He was a loving and loyal husband and father.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Grant McDonald. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of nearly 43 years Shirleen McDonald of Washington, son Brian and wife Alisa McDonald of College Station, daughter Shannon and son-in-law Eddie Stein of Washington, grandchildren Brenna and Shelby McDonald and Taylor and Faith Stein, and his mother Therese McDonald of Brenham, and sister, Janet McDonald of Austin and numerous family members from Houston and Katy.
Bruce’s family would like you to join them at his visitation on the 29th of July at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston Texas 77079 from five o’clock in the afternoon to eight o’clock in the evening to reflect on the wonderful life that he lived. A service celebrating Bruce’s life will be Saturday, the 30th of July, 2011, at half pass twelve o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with Father Bill Bartniski, the same priest that married them, officiating. Following services Bruce will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
