Brian attended Ross Sterling High School where he excelled in academics and sports. Brian was a noted football player and basketball player. After High School Brian was employed by Houston Lighting and Power (later CenterPoint Energy) and he joined the IBEW Local 66 as a Journeyman Lineman. He moved on to work for Frontline Construction also as a Journeyman Lineman and completed 36 years of service. Brian loved his career. He served clients in many locations, throughout many storms, hurricanes and tornadoes with dedication.
Brian and Lynell shared 35 years together. They were married for 29 years and through their Union two children were born Brian II and Bre’Anna. Brian was a devoted husband and father and son. He leaves his family and friends with wonderful memories that they shared together. Brian confessed to Christianity and joined Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.
Brian enjoyed golf and played regularly. He was also a devoted San Francisco 49er fan. He loved spending time outdoors with his dogs (Minnie, Blu and Stevie), watching his favorite TV shows, outdoor cooking and driving his Dodge Ram truck named “Ruby Red.”
Brian leaves to cherish in his memories: wife Lynell O’Neil, Brian F. O’Neil II son and Bre’Anna O’Neil daughter; Evelyn and William Maxey parents; Xavier O’Neil brother; Joel Carter Jr. uncle; Joel and Ruby Carter - Grandparents preceded in death; Mother-in-law Darlene Mabin; Sisters-in-law Veola and husband George Miller; Juana and husband Rev. Kenneth Jackson; 11 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great niece and nephew and a host of cousins, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
