Kaye moved to Katy, Texas when she was in the eighth grade, where she later graduated from Katy High School. For years she was a proud member of Katy’s First Baptist Church. Later, she gave birth to two sons, Cody and Clint. Her boys were her all! She enjoyed watching them grow up in sports and FFA. Being a mother to them was her greatest joy in life, secondarily to them making her a Memaw!
Being a Memaw was one of her most treasured blessings. She was more of a mother than just a grandma. From Mike- the oldest, to William- the youngest, with Allie, Lauren, Teal, Taylor and Jacey in between. She was ecstatic to be become a great grandmother to Teal’s Ione and so wanted to hold Lauren’s little man. She was even able to find out his unrevealed name before her passing.
Being a mere 4’ 11” did not stop her from much. She had a very strong work ethic, managing a busy insurance agency for over 20 years. Anyone who met her would agree that her smile lit up a room and her laugh was just as contagious.
Over the years, she enjoyed her free time with family and her best friends, Darla and Linda Gail. The trio loved to play cards, hangout with their grandchildren and travel around the country.
An avid animal lover, all her pets and gran-pets were truly like children to her. She was always sneaking them table scraps and snuggled up to them watching her favorite Law and Order: SVU episodes.
After retiring, she moved to Cypress, TX with her brother Floyd (Mann) and his family. She was eternally grateful to be close to him and to share their growing families together.
Kaye was generous, an avid listener with humor and wit. She was calm with perseverance, determination and strength. Christ was her Cornerstone. Well done on your earthly journey. Always and forever in our hearts.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, January 10th at The Chapel of Eternal Peace At Forest Park. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 2454 S. Dairy Ashford Houston, TX 77077
