Brenda Morille Murdock passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 7, 2024, in Greenville, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas, she grew up with her siblings, Debra and Vincent, and developed a love for life, learning, and connection that defined her journey.
Brenda met her husband, Daniel Murdock, while attending Robert E. Lee High School. Together, they built a loving home with their two daughters, Lisa and Sabrina, in Kingwood, Texas. A devoted mother, Brenda filled her daughters' lives with warmth, encouragement, and fun.
After earning a Master’s in Educational Technology, Brenda dedicated her career to fostering learning at Humble ISD. Over the course of her career, Brenda formed deep friendships with colleagues who became like family to her. Her friends and family steadfastly supported her through the loss of her husband, Daniel, in 2001.
In 2009, Brenda embraced a joyous new chapter as “Mimi” when she became a grandmother—a role that infused her life with renewed energy and purpose. Her granddaughters became the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them. Brenda was deeply involved in their daily lives, from helping them get ready for school each morning to hosting magical sleepovers filled with laughter, popcorn surprise, and movie nights. Brenda and her granddaughters spent countless hours playing pretend in her backyard playhouse, creating precious memories filled with joy and imagination. In 2022, her final granddaughter was born in Greenville, Texas. Brenda pulled up roots and moved to embrace her role as Mimi once more. Brenda’s love and devotion created countless cherished memories with all of her granddaughters, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In early 2020, Brenda discovered love once more with Stephen Hornberger, beginning a beautiful chapter of companionship and devotion. For nearly five years, they shared a deeply caring relationship filled with unconditional love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they embarked on wonderful adventures, creating lasting memories while cherishing time with family and strengthening the bonds that mattered most. Stephen brought renewed happiness and joy into Brenda’s life, and their partnership was a testament to the power of love at any stage of life.
Brenda lived each day with kindness, generosity, and compassion, approaching life with a playful sense of humor and an enduring love for those around her. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel valued and believed deeply in the importance of forming strong, lasting bonds. Brenda often said that when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure—and her memory will forever remain a cherished treasure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
She is survived by her daughters Lisa Ramke and Sabrina Manskey, their husbands Eli and Andrew, and her granddaughters Ava, Audrey, Alyssa, Sara, and Stella. Brenda also leaves behind her siblings, Debra Kula and Vincent Morille, their families, and her loving companion Stephen Hornberger. She is reunited in peace with her parents, Vincent and Marguerite Morille, and her husband, Daniel Murdock.
