A visitation for Brenda will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home - Champions, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Brenda Brown was 70 years of age. A long time resident of Houston, Texas she was born in Compton, California on August 1, 1951 to Samuel James Armstrong and Dorothy Cornelius Miller. Brenda was born fifth of eight children and preceding in her death are four brothers: Jerome Armstrong, Samuel James Armstrong II, Charles Armstrong, and Bobby Joe Armstrong and a sister Geraldine Epps. She is survived by the patriarch of the family, John Armstrong Sr. as well as three sisters: Rose Mary Hendy, Cynthia Samples, Clarissa (Sug) Armstrong and God-brother Lennard Sherouse. The Browns; Ozark Alabama, Anthony Brown, Alfred Fanner, Sgt. Gregg Brown, and their wives. Thomas Brown, Joyce Brown, Beverly Janice and Jules Lovely.
Brenda Brown married her partner in life Andrea Von Brown on November 15, 1988. They were each other’s support and best friends throughout their marriage for over thirty one years until the passing of Andrea on February 24, 2020. Brenda was a lover of laughter and adventure. She shared that love with Andrea and together they traveled often. They visited various locales in their time together, sharing their love of life, laughter and each other with others throughout every phase and stage of their life together. Brenda and Andrea can now spend eternity together in heaven after a wonderful life and partnership on Earth.
Brenda graduated Banning High School in Carson, California and also obtained a modeling certification from the prestigious Barbizon Modeling School in Los Angeles, which led her to many modeling opportunities for several years. She later received her License as a Certified Beautician from Marinello Beauty School to pursue her career as a hairstylist, which she did for over 40 years. Upon her retirement she pursued a career at the airport and became a Supervisor for Delta Airlines becoming a mentor to many there.
Always enterprising, Brenda began many ventures to bring her passions to life. Full of energy, Brenda was truly a creative visionary. She opened a retail store in the mall called Mahogany Republic and a Soul Food Café named Le Gourmet before answering the call to open her home to special needs adults and children as a foster parent for seven years. Her latest business journey saw her working tirelessly to bring BB Armstrong Vacation Rentals to fruition. A singer and a giver, she used her natural talents for her many hobbies and became the founder of The Northeast Community Choir, and rejoiced in assisting cousin Montana Bailey in feeding the homeless through her organization Small Touch Big Impact in Los Angeles.
Brenda leaves her children DuEwa Sanabria (Bria), Tyfuni Davis (Tye), and Tomawi Davis (Mya) to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy. Building from her loving foundation will be her grandchildren Jaylen Sanabria-Sterchi, and Saniah Sanabria-Singleton. Brenda will also be missed by her step-children Pequitta Bolden, Shemika Thompson and their children. Always present in support of her loved ones’ most important times, memories of Brenda will definitely linger in the minds and hearts of all her nieces, nephews, relatives, and her multitude of friends who will always and forever love her dearly.
