Bonnie and Al have been our friends and neighbors since we moved into our home on Columbia St, just around the corner, over 30 years ago. Bonnie watched our kids grow up, and always asked how they were doing. When our granddaughter was born last year, we took her to meet our dear friend, who was delighted to make her acquaintance. And, when Louis suffered a debilitating heart attack three years ago, it was Bonnie who came outside every evening with Al to cheer him on as he learned to walk again. She had a kind, heroic spirit, and will be deeply missed. May the memory of her goodness be a comfort to all the family, especially Al.

My wife and I have been neighbors to Bonnie and Al since the summer of 2001.  We always enjoyed seeing them walk around the neighborhood when Bonnie was still able to do that.  And we used to talked a bit about Ottawa, Kansas  — since I lived close to there as a child and grew up in the northeastern part of the state.  I was up that way a year ago, in October 2019.

Our sympathy goes out to the whole family.  We know this is a sad time for everyone.  And we hope that you call celebrate her life and the love she shared with folks in great joyfulness, as a remembrance of who she was too so many of you.

Bonnie was greatly loved. She always was smiling and made me laugh. She loved my parents OJ and Betty Ward and called them often- even when she felt bad.  Bonnie- Dad is waiting for you with open arms- fix him a good cup of coffee please💕 love you Bonnie 💕💕💕Ann and Vinson and  Betty Ward!


Ms Bonnie was a beautiful soul. I didn't have enough for my ice cream at Sav On Drugs and she paid for it. My mama and her were friends, my daddy worked with Mr. Cole at the Post Office a d I grew up with Alvin. She will be surely missed but never forgotten ever. She was kind, generous and an amazing cook. Her long hair was beautiful. I love you Ms. Bonnie, till we see each other again. Love Shelley Whitson.

I remember when uncle Alvin brought you home to meet our new aunt. I was so excited that he had found a sweet , caring, loving and funny person.  You were always excited to see us and what hugs you gave freely!!!  Even when you were not feeling your best, you still had smiles that lite the room. 
I thank the Lord that we got to have decades to share with you.

I meant Bonnie  Cole a year ago when I was working through rehab when she was released from rehab in February of this year I started working with her I was her caregiver I did not know how much I would get attached the Cole Family brought me into their life I got very close to the Cole I love them like they were my grandparents we had our times we loved we got mad at each other but we work through Bonnie Cole I miss you I love you my heart's with you rest in peace my sweet girl

I always called you my Aunt even though we were cousins.  So many wonderful times growing up visiting during the summer.  Always loved you and always will. Dads there to meet you with open arms. Rest in peace.

Bonnie loved her family!!   She and Al were the best neighbors and babysitters Kevin and I had.   She was a very empathetic person with great interests in everything.  There was not a person she met that she didn't become friends with.    We will miss her and her stories and the many times she made us laugh.   We love you Bonnie.

I am so sorry to hear of Bonnie's passing.  I have so many memories of her being a room mother with my mom at Field Elementary school.  Such a sweet lady.  She will most certainly be missed.  Much love and prayers to the family.
