Bobby Thorn

Bobby confessed his faith in the Lord at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church (Trinity Gardens) under the leadership of Pastor F.W. Thorn. In May of 1968, Bobby met Lillian “The Love of His Life.” Bobby and Lillian were wed in Holy Matrimony until God called him home.

Bobby made the journey to his heavenly home on May 6, 2023, joining his father, Arron Ferguson; his mother, Beatrice Barrett; sisters, Cynthia Ferguson and Sharon Ferguson; brothers, Rev. FW. Thorn (Joyce) and R.W. Thorn (Rosa).

Left to cherish Bobby’s memories are his wife of 56 years, Lillian Thorn; brothers, Arron Ferguson, Jr., Charles Pettus (Uradel); sisters Carolyn Bradford (Carl), Ouida Hillsman (Norris), and Minnie Ferguson; daughters Angela McCoy (John), Tommi Halidy (Steven); sons William F. Thorn (Doreen), Nathan Ray Foreman (Charese), Bobby Foreman Thorn (Nina), Michael Thorn (Doreen), Joseph B. Thorn and Kunta C. Thorn. Sisters-in-Law, Gertie Townsend (Steve), Gloria Jones (Fred), Dora Foreman (Johnnie B.) and Brother-in-Law Melvin Foreman (Carolyn) and Theodore Smith (Anna Pearl)

Grandpa Bobby had 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bobby was a lover of driving race cars. He loved and collected antique cars. He loved going ice skating every Friday night. Basketball was also one of his favorite sports. He would hit the basketball course playing all the time. He really enjoyed it. Bobby also loved and professionally drove Big Rigs (18-wheelers).
