Bobby C. Scott was born in Houston, Texas in 1943. He was an avid golfer, loved a good glass of Merlot and doted on his two canine companions a whole, dang lot. He was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and even a cousin too but above all of these things he was an instant friend to just about everyone he ever met. Bob was the oldest brother in a family of six and spent the formative years of his life in Houston, TX. He met his first wife Linda in the early 60’s and together they had a daughter named Terri in the winter of 1962. In the mid 60’s he got a job with NASA where he worked on the space suits that would eventually be used for the Apollo missions to the moon. It was there that he later met his second wife Janet and together they had a son named Ryan in the spring of 1979. Bob had (and according to his beliefs continues to have) a deep love for both of his children. Bob went on from NASA to eventually settle into a career as a Quality Assurance Engineer, which basically means he was a detective of sorts. His job was to figure out the why of circumstance. You could say Bob had a knack for asking the right questions at the right time and probing the veneer of illusion one might call truth. In other words, Bob was one heck of a stickler for details and a verifiable perfectionist. He loved his work and was pretty darn good at it. Bob liked things short and sweet. He was very fond of the KISS methodology of handling the business of the day. In short - “Keep It Simple Stupid”. In a strange way you could say that was actually one of the good parts of his untimely demise. Bob got zapped by a catastrophic aneurysm on a beautiful Wednesday morning drive through Humble, TX. Considering he had just retired the year before he was probably pretty ticked off about it. Then again his death for the most part was short and simple but unfortunately for all who knew him it was a little too soon and a little bittersweet. Bob could solve the world's problems in a single evening on the kitchen table and then the next morning not once interrupt a friend in need of a kind ear. His wit was as sharp as a tack and he had a laugh that could fill a room with hearty, easy warmth. Although it goes without saying, he will be truly missed by his children: Ryan Taylor Scott & Teri Lynn Johnson; grandson, Dalton Taylor Johnson; sisters: Patsy McKinney, Cynthia Johnson & husband Maurice; brothers: Michael David Scott & wife Janis, Randy Carol Scott; special friend, Jeannine Lamb, loving canine companion, “Mark”; and numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Wilson & Jimmie Scott; sister, Debra Scott Church and beloved canine companion, “Dart”. Instate visitation will be held on Tuesday the 2nd of March between the hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM. The main service for his passing will be held at 12:30PM on Wednesday the 3rd of March at Brookside Funeral Home.
