Bobby Gene Mikolajchak, 76, of Spring Texas, passed away October 5, 2021, after contracting COVID-19 while battling cancer and other health issues. He was born May 14, 1945, in Bellville, Texas, to Albin B. and Pauline E. (Kujawa) Mikolajchak, Sr. He grew up in Chappell Hill and attended local schools where he met Alice Thiele. They married on February 13, 1965, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Father John Wesolek. He and Alice started their family together in Brenham where they had their three children- William, Cheryl and Brenda. In 1974, they moved to Spring, Texas, where they raised their loving children. Bobby worked at Whirlwind Manufacturing, Inc. for five years then worked for Rig-A-Lite, Inc. for several years. He then went to work for his cousin, Max Jezierski, at Bolt Mfg. Co. in Houston once they had established enough business to operate full time. Bobby quickly rose to become President. Max Jezierski passed away suddenly in 1983. In 1984, Bobby and Alice established their own fastener manufacturing company, Bobby’s Nut & Bolt Mfg. Co. The company was family run from the beginning and conducted business worldwide. The company grew to include as many as 12 employees who were also considered family. In recent years they slowed their involvement in the daily operations putting the direction of the company under their son, William.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Bruno Thiele, mother-in-law Annie Thiele, daughter Cheryl Volovar, grandson Jason Volovar, son-in-law Sanjai Gautam, brother-in-law Pete Kwiatkowski Jr., nephew Allen Schulze, many aunts, uncles and cousins and many business relations considered as family.
He is survived by son, William Mikolajchak and wife Cathy, son-in-law Thomas Volovar Jr., daughter Brenda Gautam: sister Lillian Kwiatkowski and husband Edward “Shorty”, twin sister Shirley Kwiatkowski, brother Albin J. Mikolajchak and wife Janie: grandchildren Holly Butler, Michael Butler and wife Ashley, Benjamin Volovar, Quinton Volovar and wife Hannah, Nicholas Gautam and Brian Gautam: great grandchildren Hunter Butler and Olivia Butler: 19 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and great nephews and many business relations he considered like family.
Bobby had a gentle heart and was always a positive influence to those who were around him. He believed in working hard and built Bobby’s Nut & Bolt on his reputation of whatever it takes to deliver on time. He advertised “Open 7-1/2 days a week, 25 hours a day.” He loved children and always took the time to treat them as individuals and taught them to be and do their best. He enjoyed cooking special dishes and watching cooking shows and old western TV shows. He enjoyed daily lunches at Los 3 Ranchitos Mexican Restaurant in Spring, regularly meeting up with longtime friend of the family, Ronald Sopchak. He loved to laugh and enjoyed spirited family gatherings. He was also blessed in recent times with the love and support from dear friends Ronald Sopchak, Dick and Kay Daniel, Mike Matlage, and the nursing staff who cared for him during his cancer battle. He will always be remembered and greatly missed by those who knew him.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 beginning at 1:00pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, Texas 77060. Inurnment to follow the service. The family would like to invite family and friends for a reception following services at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
