Blaine Wright, 89, of Houston Texas, passed away on Wednesday April 26th, 2017 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon on Sunday, April 30th at Advantage Funeral Home located at 7010 Chetwood Dr., Houston, TX 77081.
Blaine was born in Nebraska on November 19, 1927. After graduating college, he joined the Navy to serve in WWII, working as a Morse Code reader. He followed this tour by joining the Army and serving in the Korean War.The discipline and patriotism he learned in the military never left him, as friends and family will attest. You could often hear Blaine singing military songs until the final days of his life.
After leaving his life in the military, Blaine met his wife Barbara and they started an adventurous life together. In the 1970’s Blaine converted a school bus into a mobile home and travelled from Texas to California over a 6 year period with their two children Cynthia and Dusty. Along the journey two additional children, Kari and Shawn, were born. From this point forward Blaine and Barbara lived a communal life with many family, friends and welcoming everyone into their home.
Blaine has joined his wife Barbara and leaves behind his four children, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
