Billy Gayle Wilson Sr. went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2016. He was born on November 26, 1928 in Magnolia, Arkansas to parents Dennis Lafayette and Ocie Estelle Wilson. He married the love of his live Elsia Margarette McGee on May 17, 1956. Billy was a devout Baptist. He served the Lord and his church as a Deacon at Son-Rise Baptist Church. As a Musical Evangelist he shared his love of gospel music. Billy was also a Poet and Story Teller, which he shared with his family and friends. He was a proud Korean War veteran where he served as Military Police among other duties. He worked as a bus driver for the city until he retired. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Gene Rodney Wilson and Darryl Wes Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; four children, Billy G. Wilson Jr. of Houston, Texas, Margarette Adkins and husband Rick of New Caney, Texas, Marcus Wilson of Pampa, Texas, Christian Wilson of New Caney, Texas; and daughter-in-law Patti Wilson of Coventry, Connecticut; ten grandchildren, Kathy Wilson of Gorton, Connecticut, Kaitlin Lindhardt and husband Lars of Stafford Springs, Connecticut, Nicole Jessie and husband Chris of New Caney, Texas, Daniel Wilson of Belton, Texas, Billy G. Wilson III of Houston, Texas, Ron Hogan of New Caney, Texas, Jason Hogan of Houston, Texas, Tracy Kvien and husband Per of Spring, Texas, Kristen Howell and husband Nathan of Magnolia, Texas, Michael Adkins of New Caney, Texas; twenty great-grandchildren, Halie Santangelo, Maren Lindhardt, Eisa Lindhardt, Corey Jessie, Bryanna Jessie, Jacob Jessie, Starr Wilson, Royal Wilson, Syrenity Wilson, Alyssa Hinna, Dylan Anderson, Madison Hogan, Gabriella Hogan, Kristoffer Kvien, Tyler Kvien, Hannah Kvien, Kinsey Kvien, Lance Giesman, Kodi Giesman, and Sarah Howell; brother, Albert Wilson and wife Judy of Nutley, New Jersey; two sisters, Frances Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Wilson of Dayton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, October 21, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
