He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pattie Brawn; his parents, Walter and Mildred Brawn and his sister, Mary Jo Moore. He is survived by his daughter, Billie Wilbanks, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Paul Guess; granddaughters and husbands, Amber Wilbanks-Sambile and Pab Sambile and Kristen Wilbanks-McMillan and Daren McMillan; great grandchildren, Ella Sambile and Wyatt McMillan; his trusted Great Dane, Gustav and countless band students in which he mentored throughout his 40 years of teaching. In 2018, Mr. Brawn was inducted into the Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame and into the J. Frank Dobie High School Hall of Honor, Pasadena Independent School District in 2019. He was a member of TMEA, TBA, MENC, TMAA, TSTA, and played bass trombone in a German Polka Band. Mr. Brawn was also a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in the Richmond/Rosenberg area.
A Celebration of Life to honor Bill's memory will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Richmond, TX.
