She was a professional dancer with the Tommy Dorsey Band and traveled around the country during the summers of her high school years. After high school she worked in accounting jobs throughout her career. She was very involved with her church young adults group where she met James Prohaska, and in 1954 they married. They built their home and raised their daughters in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1974 Jim was transferred to Houston Texas by his company. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their Masonic and Shriner friends. They volunteered at the Cripple Children’s Hospital and Burn Center. Billie was active in the Eastern Star in Kansas as well as Texas.
After they retired Jim and Billie traveled full time. Enjoying their Good Sam traveling buddies. They would make frequent visits back to Kansas to see family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband. She is survived by three daughters, Jerre Ann McNeill of Oak Grove Missouri, Christine Haupt of Hockley Texas, and Cynthia Kelly of San Felipe Texas. She has five grandchildren, Michael McNeill of Kansas City Missouri, Christopher McNeill of Oak Grove Missouri, Matthew Hoffmann of Meadows Place Texas, Christian Kelly of Meadows Place Texas, and Allison Lockstedt of San Felipe. She has six great grandchildren, Ryan McNeill, MacKenze McNeill, Kadance McNeill, Savanah Hoffmann, Aubrey Lockstedt and Ryland Lockstedt.
