Betty Lynn Weatherly

She graduated in 1960 from Amarillo High School. In 1973 she began her career as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Editor of the Houston Chronicle. She held that position for 33 years, retiring in 2008. Her hobbies included tending to her beloved roses in her garden, knitting and crocheting, enjoying time on the beach and spending special moments with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Whitney Lynn Rogers and her special friend Bob Watson; her brother John Brewer and his wife Gayle; her uncle H. T. “Tuck” Cornelius; her niece Becci Jane Brewer; her nephew Johnny Frank Brewer; and her cousins Viki Jane Massey and her husband Dennis, Karen Jane Shepherd, Angela Jane Pruitt and her husband Keith, Justin Massey, Kaylee Jane Shepherd, Kristin Jane Clark and her husband Charlie and Tyler Nolan May.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 6:00 PM in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
