Betty is survived by her brother, John M. Vaught of Denver, Colorado, daughters Missy Plaxco and Amy Price, both of whom reside in Houston, along with two son-in-laws, four grandchildren, and many dear friends.
Betty led a life full of humor, quick wit, a love of learning, with a positive attitude, and an open mind. She had many interests including her love of reading, cats, antiques, travel, crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, rug hooking, photography and of course, shopping for great shoes. Betty enjoyed a long career as a corporate trust officer with financial service companies. She eventually retired at age 69. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Houston Area Parkinson’s Society (www.hapsonline.org) in her memory.
