Betty Jane Taylor

Betty was a long-time resident of Spring Branch and a member at First Baptist Church, Houston and the adult choir for many years. She was a 1940 graduate of Reagan High School and worked in various industries throughout WWII as her husband was transferred by the U. S. Coast Guard - Corpus Christi, New Orleans, Mobile and Atlantic City. In 1989 she retired from Coca Cola Foods, Houston, Texas.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Avery Taylor; parents William A. Clark and wife, Cora Belle Lawson Clark; sisters Audie Clark Morton, Thelma Clark Connally of Houston, and Ruby Clark Threlkeld of LaMarque; and brother Wendall “Buddy” Clark of Dallas.

Survived by her daughters, Bonnie Taylor McClain and husband Harold, and Cora Ellen Taylor; grandson, Trevor McClain, sister, Dorothy Clark Haney of Houston, Texas; and nieces, Cheryl Haney Roberts of Houston, and Patrice Connally Norris of Winter Haven, Florida.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waltrip Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at Waltrip Funeral Home, 1415 Campbell Rd., Houston, TX 77055 at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 with Rev. Larry Lilley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
