Betty Lou Stokes, a talented artist and skilled seamstress, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, just one week short of her 92nd birthday. She was a devoted wife and mother, beloved grandmother and great grandmother, who, since 1969, was an active member of Fair Haven United Methodist Church and the Neighborhood Community Center.
Betty leaves behind her children, Ina Bullock and husband Bob, Sue Thibault and husband Bob, John Stokes and wife Evita and Jim Stokes; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather and share memories of this wonderful woman during a visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21st at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, 77055.
At 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday March 22nd, a funeral procession will depart from lane #1 inside the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, and arrive where graveside services will promptly begin at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Robert "Bob" Luton, of Fair Haven United Methodist Church is honored to officiate.
